| Family and Consumer Sciences The mission of Family and Consumer Sciences is to strengthen families and empower individuals to take responsibility for the well being of themselves and others - in the home, workplace, community and the world. Programs feature enjoyable activities in areas such as nutrition, family living, child development, parenting, and clothing and textiles. "Education for employment" programs allow students to get to know themselves and to select careers that match their interests and aptitudes. Some Family and Consumer Sciences examples include early childhood education, culinary arts, and fashion production.
